Tottenham Hotspur are now making advances in a deal to sign highly-rated Argentine striker Alejo Veliz, according to TyC Sports journalist, Cesar Luis Melo,
Valiz has won many admirers since breaking into Rosario Central’s starting eleven, with the 19-year-old currently enjoying a prolific campaign, having found the back of the net 11 times in 23 matches so far (Transfermarkt).
Apart from his eye for goal, the centre-forward has also caught the eye with his hold-up play, tenacity and vision – qualities that have led many to believe that it is only a matter of time before the youngster breaks into the senior Albiceleste set-up.
Could Alejo Veliz be set to join Tottenham?
Luis Melo has now taken to social media to reveal that Spurs are now making progress in a deal to bring Veliz to North London as part of Ange Postecoglou‘s new-look Spurs side.
The journalist further clarifies even if the deal goes through, Rosario’s intention is to keep the striker at the club until the end of the calendar year.

Meanwhile, ESPN Argentina reporter Gustavo Yarroch has now gone a step further and suggested that there is a high chance that Veliz would soon become a Tottenham player.
He added that the deal to take the centre-forward to the Premier League side is expected to be worth around $15m (£11.8m).

This appears to be quite an astute signing as Veliz seems to be thought of as an even more exciting prospect than Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez back in Argentina.
However, the 19-year-old is one for the future rather than the finished product, which is why Spurs would have to enter the market for a big-name sriker if Harry Kane joins Bayern Munich.
