Alejo Veliz has now agreed a long-term contract with Tottenham Hotspur ahead of a potential move to the North London club, Fabrizio Romano has revealed.
Veliz broke into Rosario Central’s senior set-up back in 2021 aged just 17 but it is over the past few months that the striker has started showing glimpses of the potential he has always had.
The 19-year-old has not only found the back of the 11 times in 23 league appearances this season but was also the standout performer for Argentina in the Under-20 World Cup earlier this year.
It was TyC Sports’ Cesar Luis Merlo who was the first to report on Wednesday that Tottenham had made an offer for Veliz.
Relevo journalist Matteo Moretto subsequently claimed this morning that the negotiations between Spurs and Rosario Central are now at an ‘advanced stage’ and that the deal could be agreed in a matter of hours.
Personal terms agreed between Spurs and Alejo Veliz
Romano has now taken to social media to reveal that Veliz has already agreed a five-year contract with Tottenham and is keen on making a switch to the Premier League side.
The journalist added that Spurs are now in talks with Rosario, with the Argentine club thought to be keen on getting the player back on loan for at least six months if the deal goes through.

It would be in Tottenham’s interest to loan Veliz back to Rosario if the deal does go through as the teenager needs to continue getting regular game time under his belt in order to become more of a finished product.
