Alejo Veliz spoke to reporters at Ezeiza International Airport in Buenos Aires last night prior to his flight to London to seal his switch to Tottenham Hotspur.
Veliz has revealed that his compatriot Giovani Lo Celso has already made contact with him and has offered his complete support to help him settle into his new surroundings.
Fabrizio Romano took to Twitter/X yesterday to disclose that the 19-year-old forward will undergo his medical at Tottenham early next week ahead of penning a five-year deal with the Premier League side in a deal worth £18million overall, including a fixed fee of £11.8million for current club Rosario Central.
Lo Celso offers Veliz support over move to Spurs
The teenage striker told ESPN Sports Centre: “I spoke to Gio Lo Celso: He told me I would have his support and he was waiting for me.”
Veliz, who is over six feet tall, has scored 11 goals in 23 league games for far this season for Rosario and also caught the eye when he scored three goals in four matches for Argentina during the U20 World Cup.
Nottingham Forest, Roma and AC Milan had all been credited with an interest in his services in the past few weeks (Daily Mail).
