Tottenham Hotspur have now officially confirmed the signing of Alejo Veliz on a six-year contract from Rosario Central, just days before the new Premier League season kicks off.

Spurs already handed out Harry Kane’s old number 37 shirt to Micky Van de Ven earlier today, and it has now been revealed that Veliz will take the number 36 for the 2023/24 season.

Veliz joins the forward ranks at Hotspur Way, alongside Harry Kane, Richarlison, and academy starlet, Dane Scarlett. The 19-year-old has not been loaned back to his old side, at least as of yet.

The teenager is said to be joining the North London club in a deal worth around £13 million (Daily Mail).

Spurs are racking up the new signings this summer

Veliz becomes Tottenham’s eighth signing of the summer, after Dejan Kulusevski and Pedro Porro’s loans turned into permanent deals, and James Maddison, Guglielmo Vicario, Manor Solomon, Ashley Phillips, and Micky Van de Ven also arrived.

Spurs Web Opinion:

I get the impression that Ange Postecoglou is more than happy to hand out minutes to youngsters if they deserve it. And if Dane Scarlett goes out on loan, there could be minutes available for young Veliz, especially if injuries occur or Harry Kane still leaves.
