Alejo Veliz has admitted that it is a dream come true for him to sign for a massive club like Tottenham Hotspur, and the significance of the move is only now starting to sink in.
Veliz has made quite an impression in his relatively short senior career for Rosario Central, having found the back of the net 11 times in 23 appearances in the Argentine top flight this season.
The youngster was also one of the standout performers for the Albiceleste at the Under-20 World Cup earlier this year, and Spurs fans will be hoping that he is able to fulfil his potential at North London.
The 19-year-old stated that he was in disbelief when he first heard of Tottenham’s interest but insisted that he had no doubts about making the move to the club.
The teenager also remarked that he is determined to grab the opportunities that come his way over the coming months.
Alejo Veliz is over the moon at Tottenham transfer
The striker said in his first interview to the club’s official website: “When I first found out about everything that was happening and that the club was interested in me, to be honest with you, I couldn’t believe it.
“It really didn’t sink in until I actually arrived here, and I realised exactly what was here. It really is a magnificent club and here’s hoping that I make the very most of my opportunity and perform in the best way possible.
“I’m coming here with a huge desire to do well. I’m totally on board and 100 per cent focused on the task in hand here. I’m really pleased and grateful to have my family here with me, they’re always with me, and I’m totally fulfilling a dream, coming here to such a massive club.
“I will do my level best to grab my opportunity and hopefully everything will go as well as it possibly can for me here. When the opportunity came up for me to come here, I had no doubts whatsoever. I chatted with my family about it, and they were 100 per cent with me on my decision.”

While it is a big step up for Veliz to make, given his lack of experience, he is evidently a very confident kid, who believes in his own ability.
He comes across as someone who is hungry to make an impression on the coaching staff and show what he can do if he gets opportunities.
