According to a report in Mundo Deportivo, Real Sociedad striker Willian Jose turned down a loan offer from Tottenham Hotspur during the summer transfer window.
Spurs finally managed to end their long-awaited search for a Harry Kane back up last week when they secured the signing of Carlos Vinicius from Benfica on an initial loan deal, with an option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the season.
Jose was another striker who was rumoured to be on the club’s radar, with Tottenham being backed to offer around €25m for him last month (Calcio Mercato) after seeing their pursuit of the Brazilian collapse during the January transfer window (El Desmarque).
Mundo Deportivo reported that the striker was looking to leave in the summer, with Sociedad encouraging clubs to bid for him in the final days of the transfer window.
The report claims that Spurs, as well as Sevilla, Marseille and West Brom, all made a loan offers for Jose but that the 28-year-old was not interested in a temporary move and was only willing to consider a permanent transfer.
