Mundo Deportivo have revealed that Bryan Gil is desperate to leave Tottenham Hotspur ‘at all costs’ before the transfer window shuts on Monday.
Gil has not started a single Premier League match since his move from Sevilla during the summer (Transfermarkt).
Although the winger has shown glimpses of his quality in his some of his cameos off the bench, he appears to be a long way off from forcing himself into Antonio Conte’s starting eleven.
Fabrizio Romano revealed on Sunday that Valencia, Real Sociedad and Nice were interested in signing Gil on loan, with the journalist stating that Jose Bordalas’ side were leading the race for the winger.
Cadena Ser subsequently revealed that Sociedad had not given up their pursuit on completing the temporary singing of the Spurs winger and were waiting to hear back from the North London club.
Mundo Deportivo have now also backed up the claim about Sociedad’s keenness to snap up Gil on the back of the injury to winger Ander Barrenetxea.
The report also adds that the 20-year-old is desperate to leave Spurs this month on the back of his struggles over the last six months.
It is suggested that the Spain international is unhappy at Tottenham and has not adapted to life in England since his summer move, while also insisting that he has no issues in the north London dressing room.
Spurs Web Opinion
It cannot be easy for a 20-year-old to adapt to life in a new country, particularly when he does not speak the language. So, Gil’s struggles at Spurs are understandable, particularly considering that he has not played a lot of football.
However, the youngster clearly seems to possess a lot of talent and has looked committed whenever he has been handed an opportunity. So, it makes sense for Spurs to loan the youngster out rather than cashing in on him.
