According to 90min.com, Tottenham Hotspur are still in the market for another right-wing-back, and could be considering Adama Traore as an option for that area once again.

Spurs may have just signed Djed Spence from Middlesborough after a summer of pursuing the youngster, but Antonio Conte is reportedly still keen to bolster his ranks down the right side of defence.

The news comes after it emerged both Matt Doherty (talkSPORT) and Emerson Royal (Football.London) have been made available for transfers away from the club.

Tottenham Hotspur had monitored Adama Traore last season, and looked poised to bring the Spaniard to North London in January, before the powerful Wolves player opted for a loan move to Barcelona (The Athletic).

The Catalan club decided against making that move permanent this summer, with Traore returning to Wolves (90min).

While the player reportedly prefers to play higher up the pitch (David Ornstein), Conte is well known for helping attacking players adapt to the more defensive role in his system.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Adama Traore certainly possesses the pace and power to slot into Antonio Conte’s system, his end product has always been up for debate.

His attacking returns have been poor in the Premier League with Wolves, and there have to be questions as to whether he would even be an improvement on Doherty or Royal.

With the player himself apparently not being keen on a wing-back role, there are surely options out there who are better suited to joining our squad and having the willingness to succeed.
