Tottenham Hotspur and Galatasaray chiefs have reportedly met in the past few weeks to discuss potential transfers between the two clubs for Victor Nelsson and Davinson Sanchez.

After a catalogue of dismal defending from Tottenham last season, it makes perfect sense that Ange Postecoglou is keen to reinforce the centre-back position this summer (90 Min).

It is also widely expected that Postecoglou will push for an exodus of players leaving the club during the current transfer window as he looks to reinvent the squad he has inherited (Telegraph).

One player who is looking increasingly likely to move on is Davinson Sanchez.

The Colombian has been linked with clubs such as Spartak Moscow (Sport Express), PSV Eindhoven (Voetbal International), Villarreal (Relevo) and Galatasaray (Sporx).

Meanwhile, Galatasaray could be set to lose one of their centre-halves, with Danish international Victor Nelsson rumoured to be a target for Tottenham (Ekstra Bladet, July 10).

Nelsson and Sanchez could swap clubs

Now, the idea of Sanchez and Nelsson trading places is becoming more feasible, as Turkish outlet Sabah report that Galatasaray vice-president Erden Timur has been having meetings in London about both players.

Apparently, Timur “had a meeting” with Spurs representatives recently to discuss the respective futures of both Nelsson and Sanchez.

It seems Galatasaray are adamant on a valuation of €25m (£21.5m) for Nelsson, but have also “requested” an alternative deal for their player which would see Sanchez head to Turkey along with €15m (£12.9m).

Whether that particular deal comes to fruition or not, the report seems sure of the fact that Nelsson will leave Galatasaray this summer and Sanchez will replace him.

If we can sign either Micky van de Ven or Edmond Tapsoba as a top priority, and then add Victor Nelsson to our defensive line for just £12.9m, while also offloading Sanchez, then that would be good business for Spurs.
