Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Sandro, has yet again been spotted among the supporters cheering on the Lilywhites. This time, the Brazilian was dancing with the fans as Spurs beat Fulham.
Sandro was part of Harry Redknapp’s era at Tottenham and became a highly popular figure at the club. He made 106 appearances and scored three goals during his time in North London (Transfermarkt).
He may have left Spurs in 2014, but it seems Sandro still holds the club dear to his heart. Just this year, he was spotted among the fans for the 0-0 draw against AC Milan in the Champions League (The Sun).
Though he was caught joining in with some foul-mouthed chants aimed at Tottenham’s London rivals, Arsenal, at that game, we do have the Gunners to thank for the Beast ever joining Spurs.
Sandro himself revealed to talkSPORT that it was former Arsenal man and fellow Brazilian, Gilberto Silva, who advised him to join the Lilywhites. Clearly, it was a move he did not regret one bit.
What he did regret, however, was leaving Spurs in 2014. He told the Guardian that moving on to QPR at that point was the ‘biggest regret’ of his career.
Ex-Spurs Sandro is clearly enjoying retirement
The 34-year-old may have retired from playing now, but that hasn’t kept him away from the game. In a clip shared to X, Sandro can be seen in the stands at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the recent win over Fulham.
Sandro had plenty to cheer about, too, as Ange Postecoglou‘s men returned to the top of the table thanks to goals from Heung-min Son and James Maddison.
The former Spurs man even danced in the crowd at the final whistle to the iconic ‘Freed from Desire,’ proving he hasn’t lost any of the energy that made him so popular in his playing days.
Spurs Web Opinion
It would seem Sandro is a fully-fledged Spurs fan now that he’s retired and the fans love having him back at the club as a fellow supporter. Hopefully, he has plenty to cheer and dance about throughout the season.
