According to the London Evening Standard Jan Vertonghen says the entire Spurs squad are all fighting for each other as our winless run extended to four games on Saturday.

Christian Kabasele gave Watford early lead against the run of play before Heung-min Son converted Christian Eriksen’s pinpoint low cross to put the sides level at the break, however it adds that Davinson Sanchez was shown a deserved straight red card for an elbow to Watford’s Richarlison after just 52 minutes but neither team were able to find a winner.

“We wanted to win, even with 10 men we were still looking good,” Vertonghen told the club’s official website. “It feels like we’ve dropped two points here even after the red card,We knew we had to level up our physical game and I think we did well there.

Vertonghen added “We showed that we want to fight for each other and in this phase of the season this is the most important thing.”

Heung-min Son was also disappointed: “It was a difficult game. We conceded a goal from a set-piece but it was good timing to score before half-time but then we got the red card in the second half.
“We were unlucky. I think we’re all disappointed.”
