According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham are set to swoop for Watford’s Abdoulaye Doucoure in the summer.
The article says Mauricio Pochettino was left very impressed by the 25-year-old midfielder’s display on Monday night when the he turned up at Vicarage Road on an alleged scouting mission.
Doucoure was again in inspired form as Watford defeated Chelsea 4-1 however the article does say we could face competition from Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool for the highly-rated
Doucoure’s contract with the Hornets lasts until the summer of 2020
It adds that Watford are trying to tie their asset down to a new deal, worth more than £60,000 a week, but the Hertfordshire side know he is being tracked by the top flight’s big clubs and are expecting enquiries at the end of the season.
It goes on to day that should they decide to sell, Watford will demand more than the club record £20m they banked from selling Odion Ighalo to Chinese Super League side Changchun Yatai last year and make a substantial profit on the £8million he cost them when he was bought from Rennes in 2016.
