Tottenham Hotspur made it three wins in a row this afternoon with a victory over Watford in North London, sending the Lilywhites to the top of the Premier League table.

Let’s take a look at how the individual players got on:

Hugo Lloris – 6.5 – Had very little to do today, which is ideal. The saves he did make were pretty simple but no mistakes made and distribution was solid. Important claim at the end.

Japhet Tanganga – 7 – A different test today as we assessed his attacking talent. Plays a little on the back foot and has a lot to learn, but promising signs getting in behind. Just want to see him drive and take people on down that touchline a little more.

Davinson Sanchez – 7.5 – A danger from set-pieces and defended pretty well in his own half too. Some of those cross-field passes were fantastic too.

Eric Dier – 7.5  – Calm and composed once again today. Dealt with the balls he needed to deal with and passed it off to others to create. Simple and effective. So aerially dominant.

Sergio Reguilon – 7 – A bundle of energy as usual on the left side. Gets caught out every now and then defensively. Reminds me a little of a young Kyle Walker in that respect. Would have liked to see some more crosses into the box from the byline today.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg – 8.5 – Such a solid and consistent display in the heart of the midfield. His passing range was incredible and he always looked to make stuff happen, while also working hard off the ball.

Oliver Skipp – 8 – In all honesty, I could copy and paste what I wrote for Hojbjerg. Skipp looks like a mini Pierre and that is the biggest compliment I can give him. Needs to work on his defensive positioning a little though.

Dele Alli – 7.5 – The one in the midfield three to step up and look to create in and around the box. Would have liked to have seen him in there to attack crosses more. Should have scored that cut-back from Kane in the second half to kill the game.

Steven Bergwijn – 7 – Looks so confident at the moment. He consistently received the ball and looked to take on his defender 1v1. Didn’t quite happen today in terms of the final ball.

Heung-min Son – 8.5 – So often the difference make for Spurs, Son stepped up with a pin-point free-kick when Tottenham were struggling to break Watford down. It was a low tempo and tight game today but Son always made himself available.

Harry Kane – 7 – His first PL start and he looked a little leggy at times, but still quality on the ball and regularly looked to drop back and make things happen. His one big chance was denied late on. The match sharpness is not far away at all.

Substitutes:

Lucas Moura – 6 – Looked lively after coming on and worked hard to run the clock down.

Bryan Gil – N/A
