Tottenham Hotspur made it three wins from three in the Premier League this afternoon with a somewhat comfortable 1-0 victory over Watford in North London.

Let’s take a look at the five things we learned:

Top of the Premier League – Tottenham are now top of the Premier League, the only club to maintain a 100% record from the opening three games. Spurs are on nine points out of nine, with a whole host of others on seven. Means nothing at the moment but it’s nice to say.

Clean sheets galore – Despite doing nothing to change the defensive personnel, beyond Tanganga coming in for Aurier, Spurs have also yet to concede a Premier League goal this season. It’s three clean sheets from three, with all the games finishing 1-0. Long may it continue.

Son the difference-maker – There used to be a time where Son was a side-kick to Harry Kane, adding the second or third goals onto comfortable victories. However, in recent years he has developed into a difference-maker in his own right. Finding the opening goal today was always going to be tough with Watford’s 10/11 men behind the ball. That free-kick from Son was the pin-point moment of class that Spurs needed.

Tanganga in attack – We got to see a different side to Tanganga this afternoon, his attacking work. A centre-back by trade when growing up, he still plays a little on the back foot at time. While his crossing and final-third passing needs some work, what I would say is that the timing of his runs in behind today was class. He was a real consistent outlet.

Skipp and Hojbjerg – These two are quickly becoming an iconic duo for Tottenham in the centre of midfield. Watching Skipp, it’s like Spurs have just copied and pasted Hojbjerg. They have a very similar style, temperament, range of passing, and calmness on the ball. Of course, that requires a third playmaker style midfielder who can pick the lock consistently, but these two are such a class all-around base.
