Tottenham Hotspur are close to completing the signing of Hajduk Split central defender Luka Vuskovic, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian transfer guru has revealed that Tottenham have beaten competition from five unnamed top clubs with the 16-year-old having set his sights on a switch to North London instead.

Vuskovic has already agreed personal terms ahead of the switch with Tottenham in talks with the Croatian outfit to complete the paperwork ahead of his signature.

Tottenham move for Luka Vuskovic

Romano took to X to say: “ Tottenham are on the verge of signing Croatian CB top talent Luka Vusković!

“After top project for his development, Vusković only wants Spurs — despite interest from 5 more top clubs.

“Personal terms agreed, clubs finalising paperwork. Here we go”

Tottenham have already moved earlier this summer to bring in the highly-rated Ashley Phillips from Blackburn Rovers to bolster their defensive options with Ange Postecoglou having overlooked Eric Dier for the first five matches of the new season and Davinson Sanchez having completed a transfer to Galatasaray.

Tottenham have already started to look to secure top talent with the arrival of Argentine striker Alejo Veliz earlier in the window and he now looks to be joined by Vuskovic, who will go into the academy set-up to continue his development.
