FourFourTwo asked Danny Rose to pick the best eleven from the players he has played alongside for club and country, with Harry Kane being the only current Tottenham player to make the list.

Nine of the eleven players chosen are those Rose played alongside at Tottenham, with Ryan Bertrand and Raheem Sterling being the only others to make it into the team.

The left-back made a surprising call in goal, naming Huerelho Gomes ahead of Hugo Lloris, while his centre-back pairing might also raise eyebrows, with the Belgian pairing of Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen making the team over Ledley King.

Rose went with a formidable midfield pairing of Mousa Dembele and Luka Modric, with Christian Eriksen playing as the advanced midfielder.

There was no place for Son Heung-min in the team, with Gareth Bale and Sterling playing on either flank, with Tottenham’s record goalscorer unsurprisingly leading the line.

While many may be surprised at King’s omission, it is worth noting that the left-back hardly played alongside the former Spurs captain, having spent a few years out on loan after signing for the club back in 2007.

By the time Rose returned from his loan spell at Sunderland in 2013 to stake his claim for a first-team spot, King had already hung up his boots.
