Ange Postecoglou has revealed that Alejo Veliz took part in a Tottenham Hotspur first-team training session for the first time yesterday since joining the club earlier in the summer.

Veliz joined Ange Postecoglou’s squad after making 62 appearances and scoring 19 goals across all competitions for Rosario since his debut in 2021, with Tottenham believed to have paid a fee in the region of £12million (Daily Mail).

The striker, who turns 20 next week has been injured, which is why he has had a delayed start to life at Tottenham, Postecoglou confirmed at today’s pre-match press conference ahead of the Premier League clash against Sheffield United at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium tomorrow afternoon.

Alejo Veliz is available for selection for Spurs

Postecoglou admitted last month soon after signing the forward that he would need time to settle into his surroundings and anticipated he would not get any first-team minutes during the first half of the season (Fabrizio Romano).

The Australian has now revealed that Veliz is now available as part of his plans going forward after recovering from the issue.

He told Football.London: “Alejo is finally on the pitch, which is great.

“It was his first session yesterday. He’s been impatient waiting to get started. It was good to have him involved yesterday and he’ll be available from here on as well.”
