TuttoMercatoWeb have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are set to challenge their North London rivals Arsenal in the race for Juventus man Dejan Kulusevski.
Kulusevski hit the limelight in his first full season at Juventus last campaign, scoring seven times and registering seven assists in all competitions.
Tottenham were linked with a move for the 21-year-old during the summer transfer window but he ended up staying put in Turin.
However, the midfielder has struggled for game time under Massimiliano Allegri so far this season, having started just two Serie A games.
CaclioMercato reported a few days ago that Kulusevski is not happy with a bit-part role at Juventus and the Old Lady would be open to cashing in on him for €35m (£29.9m) in January.
This has now been backed up by TMW’s latest update, with the publication claiming that Juve could use the proceeds from Kulusevski’s sale to pursue a deal for Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic.
The report reveals that Arsenal have shown interest in the Swedish international but Mikel Arteta’s side are now set to face a challenge from Spurs.
It is explained that Antonio Conte is a fan of Kulusevski, having previously tried to take him to Inter Milan while Spurs managing director of football Fabio Paratici is also thought to hold him in high regard.
Spurs Web Opinion
With Paratici and Conte now at the helm at Spurs, we are going to be linked with a host of Serie A stars by the Italian press over the next few months. It is difficult to ascertain how much truth there is to many of these reports.
However, common sense would suggest that Conte will want to analyse the current Spurs squad closely over the coming weeks before deciding which position is a priority to address in January.
