Dejan Kulusevski has admitted that he is looking forward to working with Ange Postecoglou, revealing that he was told the Australian was keen on having him on board.
Following Kulusevski’s 18-month loan spell at Tottenham, the North London club activated the £25.6m option to sign him permanently from Juventus a couple of days ago.
Even though the winger was not able to showcase his best output during much of the 2022-23 campaign, the aforementioned fee undoubtedly represents a bargain for a player who has shown glimpses of his world-class potential at Spurs.
On Sunday, Alasdair Gold revealed via Football.London that Postecoglou had given the green light for the North London club to sign Kulusevski.
The journalist also suggested that the Australian views the 23-year-old as someone who can also play centrally as a number eight if required.
Postecoglou was keen on keeping Dejan Kulusevski
Kulusevski has now expressed his desire to work with a manager who will bring a fresh approach to the club.
The winger told SportBladet (as relayed by Fabrizio Romano) about Postecoglou’s arrival: “My understanding is that he was very interested in me.
“I’m glad we’re getting a new coach with new ideas. What I’ve read and heard about him is good.”

Kulusevski and Son were both burdened by their defensive duties on the ball under Conte, which blunted their attacking output.
I expect the Swede to thrive under the attacking freedom that he is likely to get under Postecoglou during the upcoming season.
