The Athletic have revealed that there is excitement at Tottenham Hotspur over what Dejan Kulusevski can deliver during the upcoming season under Ange Postecoglou.
Tottenham activated the £25.6m option to sign Kulusevski permanently just a couple of days after the summer transfer window officially opened.
Despite the Swede flattering to deceive for much of the 2022-23 season, the decision did not come as a surprise because the winger has shown over the course of his 18-month spell at the club that he can be unplayable when in form.
On Sunday, Alasdair Gold revealed via Football.London that Postecoglou had given the green light for the North London club to sign Kulusevski, with the journalist claiming that the Australian sees the former Juventus man as someone who can even fill in as a number eight if required.
Spurs are excited to see Kulusevski under new boss
The Athletic have now suggested that there is excitement in N17 over what a fully fit Kulusevski can deliver next season after the winger struggled with injuries for much of last season.
The report states that there is a feeling that Sweden international can thrive under Postecocoglu, who demands aggression from his wide players, with the Australian seen by some as the ‘perfect’ coach to get the player going again.
Spurs Web Opinion
Kulusevski is evidently a very Postecoglou kind of player, which is why it was quite bewildering to read some suggestions last week that the Australian did not fancy the Swede.
Not only does the 23-year-old like to stretch play and take his man on but he is also a relentless presser off the ball, which is something the new Spurs head coach will demand of all his players.
