He may not have scored a goal for a while, but Dejan Kulusevski did provide two assists in the win over Shakhtar Donetsk last weekend, and the Tottenham attacker reckons that’s a sign of things to come and that he will grab a goal soon.

Kulusevski finally made his loan spell at Tottenham a permanent move this summer and many Spurs fans will be hoping to see the Swedish star back to his very best in the forthcoming campaign.

The winger made a huge impact upon his arrival in North London, contributing five goals and eight assists in the back-end of the 2021/22 campaign to help Spurs finish in the top four (Transfermarkt).

However, last season was a different story for Kulusevski, as it was for most of the Spurs players. Through injuries and inconsistent form, the 23-year-old managed just two goals and eight assists all season last term (Transfermarkt).

Like a lot of players in the Spurs squad – Yves Bissouma and Heung-min Son are two other examples – having Dejan Kulusevski back to his best form this year would be like having a new signing at the club.

The style of play Postecoglou prefers will certainly suit Kulusevski better and give him a chance to flourish this season.
