Rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Pedro Porro was in impressive form for Sporting CP last night, playing a key part in helping his side to a 3-0 win over Paços de Ferreira.

The right wing-back has been heavily linked with a move to north London in recent weeks with Spurs having watched Porro in action and are keen to improve their current options on the right side of Antonio Conte’s defence (Evening Standard).

Sporting boss Ruben Amorim insisted earlier this week that he has been told that Porro will only be allowed to leave should his £39million release clause be met (Express).

Porro broke the deadlock after just three minutes at the José Alvalade Stadium when his header found the back of the net following some questionable goalkeeping from Jordi.

The 23-year-old also provided the assist for Paulinho’s goal on the cusp of the half time whistle when he played an inch-perfect cross onto the head of the forward to extend their lead further.

Porro’s cross for Sporting’s third goal was particularly pleasing and is the type of delivery that the likes of Harry Kane would love to get himself the end of.  Frustratingly, Emerson Royal is not capable of such and Matt Doherty has struggled to rekindle the form which he displayed before his injury at Villa last season.
