Barza.com journalist Marco Barzaghi has reinforced The Daily Star’s previous report by claiming that Pedro Porro is close to completing a move to Tottenham.
The Daily Star claimed over the weekend that Spurs were closing in on a deal for Porro, having chased that right-back for ‘some time’.
The report asserted that the Sporting Lisbon man is expected to be the first player to arrive through the door at Tottenham during the January transfer window, with a £35m move expected to be sealed by the end of this week.
The update got Spurs fans excited but Record quickly squashed that excitement by contradicting the claim and suggesting that Porro is expected to stay at Sporting until the end of the season.
The publication stated that new Spain manager Luis de la Fuente had told the 23-year-old to remain in Portugal and also added that no club is likely to meet the player’s €45m (£39.8m) release clause in January.
However, Barzaghi has now seconded The Daily Star’s claim, by now stating that Antonio Conte’s men are ‘close’ to completing a £35m deal for Porro.

Spurs Web Opinion
It is anyone’s guess at the moment what the situation is with Porro. However, it would seem ridiculous for Sporting to sell the right-back for £35m just a few days after Ruben Amorim publicly announced that he has been assured that the club will only let the player leave if his release clause is met.
