Bryan Gil has earned a recall to the Spain national side following his impressive displays for Sevilla over the last two months.

Gil was thought of as one of the best young talents in Spanish football when Tottenham snapped him up from Sevilla back in 2021 but the winger’s development stalled significantly during his time in North London and he missed out on Luis Enrique’s 23-man squad for last year’s World Cup.

However, the 22-year-old has showcased his quality and versatility since his return to the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan stadium in January, impressing as a left wing-back for Jorge Sampaoli’s men.

The youngster has been rewarded for his displays with a call-up to the La Roja set-up for their upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers against Norway and Scotland.

Gil has been joined in the squad by Tottenham’s January signing, Pedro Porro, who netted his first goal for the Lilywhites in the 3-3 draw against Southampton on Saturday.

This is richly deserved for Gil on the back of the difficult two years he has had since his switch to Spurs. This will certainly boost the 22-year-old’s confidence and the youngster will be hoping to take his chance if he gets on the pitch for either of the two matches.
