Gary Neville admits that Tottenham have surprised him the most this season so far.

Tottenham appeared to be in turmoil at the start of the summer, which is why pundits could be forgiven for predicting that the Lilywhites would struggle this season.

There was plenty of friction between parts of the fan base and the club’s ownership while the Lilywhites also lost the best player of their modern history, Harry Kane.

Additionally, Ange Postecoglou was seen by many as a risky appointment, given his lack of experience at the highest level.

It was perhaps due to these reasons that some predicted that Tottenham would struggle to even finish in the top half of the table (Football Insider).

However, a couple of months on, it is not an exaggeration to say that Spurs are a club transformed, with the supporters now fully behind the side and with the team playing some eye-catching football and boasting of several top young players.

The Tottenham board and Daniel Levy deserve a lot of credit for passing up on Mauricio Pochettino and taking an educated bet on Postecoglou, even though it was not a popular decision among the fan base at the time.
