Pedro Porro has insisted that he and his Tottenham teammates would be delighted for Harry Kane if the striker chooses to move to Real Madrid this summer.

Kane is thought to be Real Madrid‘s top choice to replace Karim Benzema, with Marca reporting a few days ago that the La Liga giants have already reached out to the striker’s camp as well as to Spurs.

The publication claimed that the England captain is keen on moving to the Santiago Bernabeu and that Daniel Levy is open to selling the player to a club outside the Premier League.

This was followed by an update in Sport on Monday, which suggested that Kane feels that he has earned the right to make the move to the Spanish capital and hopes that Spurs ‘soften’ their stance regarding their asking price.

The outlet alleged that the Lilywhites are asking for more than €100m (£86.3m) for their talisman and that Madrid were hoping to ‘lower the price’ by including one of their players, who would be of interest to the Premier League side, in the deal.

Alfredo Pedulla then reported today that Spurs and Madrid are ‘very close’ to agreeing on a deal and have come to a ‘principle’ understanding on a transfer fee.

Porro, who is currently with the Spain squad ahead of their Nations League semifinal against Italy, was asked about Kane’s rumoured switch to Real, and the 23-year-old responded (via The Evening Standard): “If Kane decides to go to Real Madrid we’ll be as happy as he is or more.”

When asked how he was adapting to life at Tottenham, Porro said: “It’s another country, another language and you have to adapt quickly, but I’m happy and I hope that next season we start well.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Spurs fans should not read too much into Porro’s comments as it is unlikely that the right-back would have any inside knowledge of what Kane is likely to do.

The 29-year-old’s stance as well as Tottenham’s position on the matter should become clear over the next week or two once Postecoglou has a conversation with the striker over his future.
