With Tottenham and Arsenal set to go head to head this weekend in the first North London Derby of the season, we wanted to take a look at what a combined XI might look like.

For the purposes of this, we have made our choices based on the players’ start to the season.

Between the sticks, we have gone for Guglielmo Vicario. It is fair to say that the new Spurs man has been one of the most impressive keepers at the start of the season, especially for a newcomer. Arsenal also appear to be in two minds about who their number one even is.

At left-back, Destiny Udogie absolutely walks into the XI, having been one of Tottenham’s breakout star boys so far this year. On the right side, Pedro Porro gets the nod over Ben White, perhaps just as a more exciting option, as both have equally impressive but very different traits.

In the centre of defence, we have gone for one player from each club. No surprises that it is Cristian Romero and William Saliba, both of whom have been brick walls once again this year.

In the midfield pivot role, Yves Bissouma is the standout option in both squads, and we have surrounded him with creative talent in Martin Odegaard and James Maddison.

Up front, we have been fair to Arsenal, naming Bukayo Saka and Martinelli either side of Heung-min Son down the centre, which would create a rather fearsome attack.

What would your combined North London Derby XI be?
