Luton Town announced this week that Cameron Carter-Vickers had left the club to return to his parent team Tottenham Hotspur.
While the USA international had only been at the Championship club for the second half of the 2019/20 season, he certainly left a big impression on a number of fans.
When Carter-Vickers joined Luton in January, the club were lurking in the relegation zone and seemed destined for the drop back to League One.
However, the Spurs central defender was part of the squad that pulled off a miraculous recovery with a strong end to the season, seeing Luton finish up in 19th.
Carter-Vickers played 16 games for the Hatters during his short-term spell before returning to Tottenham at the end of the season (Wikipedia).
This followed rather unsuccessful spells at Stoke City, Swansea City, Ipswich Town, and Sheffield United over the past three years for the American.
Some Luton fans took to Twitter to express their desire for Carter-Vickers to return:
Furious. Who let CCV out the building??

We need a big transfer window. Im suggesting loaning players from the premier league. I would love it if we could get ccv back and Izzy Brown

Disappointing that Macca didn't play more, he was fantastic whenever he played. As for CCV, well I only hope we've got a plan to replace him because he was vital ?

I don’t doubt he doesn’t want to be there. But in football, it’s never fully the players decision where they are.
