Ryan Sessegnon’s Fulham team-mate Ragnar Sigurdsson has stated that he believes the 17 year old is ‘100%’ capable of playing in the Premier League, amidst speculation he’ll be joining Spurs this Summer.
Last season, the left-back emerged as one of the most hotly anticipated prospects in the Championship at just 17 years of age, with performances earning himself interest from some of the Premier League’s top clubs.
According to the Independent, Tottenham Hotspur are odds on favourites to land the youngster ahead of Manchester United in the upcoming Summer transfer window, now that Liverpool have pulled out of the race.
When asked if he thought Sessegnon could make it in England’s top flight, in an interview with Goal, Fulham team-mate Ragnar Sigurdsson responded:
“One hundred per cent.”
“He’s a great talent,” He added. “He just turned 17 and he played more than half of the games this season, he scored a lot of goals.”
In 30 appearances in all competitions last season, Sessegnon chipped in with 7 goals and 4 assists and when quizzed about the transfer talk surrounding Sessegnon, Sigurdsson stated:
“He has a very bright future. I’m just surprised he didn’t get any offers during the season. I think he was that good. There’s no surprise there.”
