Harry Kane, Ryan Sessegnon, and Yves Bissouma must be careful over the next few games if they are to avoid suspension for Tottenham’s North London Derby against Arsenal, Football London report.
Spurs have already lost Rodrigo Bentancur to suspension for the Boxing Day fixture against Brentford, although this mattered little in the end after the Uruguayan picked up a knock in Qatar.
The Premier League rules state that if a player picks up five yellow cards in their first 19 Premier League matches, they must serve a one-match ban, which is exactly what happened to Bentancur.
Tottenham’s 19th match of the season comes against Arsenal on Sunday, January 15, with games against Brentford, Aston Villa, and Crystal Palace between now and then.
Harry Kane is currently leading the way in terms of at-risk players, having been booked four times already this season. Ryan Sessegnon and Yves Bissouma both have three, while Richarlison (who is injured anyway) and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg have two each (Premier League).
Spurs Web Opinion:
Kane is the big one here. The last thing Spurs want is for him to get booked against Palace and then miss the North London Derby. It may even be worth him getting booked on Boxing Day and having a rest on New Years.
