Alasdair Gold has reported for Football.London that Ryan Sessegnon is hoping to return from injury ‘sooner rather than later’ as we enter the business end of the season.
Sessegnon is a player Spurs desperately need back from injury as soon as possible after the injury to Ben Davies, who had been thriving at left-wing-back.
Ivan Perisic, who has arguably struggled to maintain his form when asked to play games every week, is now the only fit wing-back option for Spurs on the left side.
Destiny Udogie has been in fine form for Udinese out on loan, but Tottenham won’t have access to the Italian’s talents until he returns in the summer.
Gold reported that Sessegnon could be seen doing ‘plenty of gym work’ this week while the majority of the Spurs squad is away on international duty, as he looks to return to the training pitch soon.
Spurs Web Opinion:
Having options on the left will be big for Tottenham in the final few months, as Perisic doesn’t seem to have it in his legs to play every week.
That being said, we could also see a formation change if a new manager comes in, so who knows which player will end up starting on that side.
