Tottenham Hotspur have made Ryan Sessegnon available for transfer this summer as they look to raise funds and clear the squad to make room for new arrivals.

After a miserable campaign in 2022/23 which saw the Lilywhites finish eighth in the Premier League and crash out of every cup competition sooner than hoped, there is a need for change at the club.

Tottenham have a new manager in Ange Postecoglou, and the former Celtic boss has wasted no time in reinvigorating the squad he has inherited.

Guglielmo Vicario and James Maddison have already signed, while Dejan Kulusevski’s loan move from Juventus has been made permanent.

There is also expected to be an exodus at the club as many players will be moved on to allow for a fresh start at Hotspur Way (Telegraph).

The bloated squad, including a variety of players who spent last season on loan elsewhere, desperately needs to be trimmed and upgraded.

Sessegnon is being put up for sale by Tottenham

One player whose time at Tottenham appears to be over is Ryan Sessegnon. The left-back joined Spurs from Fulham in 2019 but has never quite managed to live up to his potential.

The latest report from The Telegraph discusses the status of a whole host of Spurs players who could be set to depart this summer, and Sessegnon is named among those the club is actively trying to sell.

The report claims Tottenham are “looking to offload” Sessegnon during the current transfer window.

Sessegnon made just 23 appearances in all competitions for Spurs last term (Transfermarkt), with injury issues striking yet again.

Given his injury record and sub-par performances, it is hard to imagine many clubs queuing up to sign Sessegnon.

We can’t expect much of a transfer fee for him, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him even dropping to the Championship.
