As every football fan in the country knows, it has been well documented that Tottenham’s brand new 62,000 seat stadium is far from ready for use.
The original grand opening had been set for their next home fixture against Liverpool, but has been pushed back for at least two months, with rumours of delays until as late as February 2019.
This means that the Liverpool game, along with Cardiff at home have been moved to Wembley, with Spurs also announcing that their first Champions League home tie will be played at the national stadium.
However, there’s one pitfall in this plan, as Wembley is unavailable for the Carabao Cup third round weekend, causing a slight dilemma if Spurs were to be drawn at home.
The EFL has given Tottenham permission to either reverse the fixture and play away, or find a neutral ground to play the match at.
The Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Trust has spoken to the board, and will now put together an online survey, with the aim of passing these results back to those at the head of the club.
The survey will ask fans whether they would prefer a reversed fixture, or a neutral ground. They will also be asked whether they have attended a League Cup match in the past three years, and how likely they would be to attend one at a neutral ground.
This survey could prove to have a big impact on Tottenham’s decision, as the club are unlikely to choose a neutral ground if no fans are going to make the trip.
Where do you think Spurs should play? And do you want to have your say?
