Assistant manager Cristian Stellini has provided a team news update to journalists who have attended Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-Nottingham Forest press conference from Hotspur Way this afternoon.
Tottenham turn their attention to the Carabao Cup with a trip to the City Ground where they will be looking to book their place in the fourth round of the competition, looking to put Sunday’s disappointing defeat to Liverpool behind them.
Some may be wondering why Stellini has fronted the press conference instead of Antonio Conte, the reason being Tottenham are not contractually obligated to hold a press conference for a League Cup fixture which frees up the 53-year-old to put his focus elsewhere. Stellini is no stranger to handling media duties, having done so during the recent Champions League match against Marseille.
Such is the protocol, the media are informed of the availability of the Spurs squad ahead of the clash against Steve Cooper’s side.
Spurs were boosted by the return of Dejan Kulusevski at the weekend with the Swede making an instant impact of the bench to set up Harry Kane to pull one back against the Merseysiders.
Stellini revealed that Kulusevski is not yet ready to play 90 minutes, and Richarlison is available for the Forest match despite only training for two days.
He said (Football London): “Richarlison is back in training, He’s an available player but thinking he only has had two days training.
“[On Kulusevski] we lose him from the last international break. We can’t say that he can play 90 minutes because it’s a long time injury. We have to be careful with him.”

Spurs have reached at least the final four in three of the last four seasons, however, have not lifted the trophy since beating Chelsea in the final in 2008. Silverware is well overdue in the white half of north London and fans will be hoping that they are still involved in the competition after the conclusion of the World Cup.
