Dele Alli has admitted that he has been impressed with what he has seen from Tottenham youngster Alfie Devine this season.

Devine has made a terrific impression since joining Tottenham from Wigan’s academy last summer. The midfielder has impressed for the club’s Under-18s as well as the Under-23s and has trained with the first-team on plenty of occasions this year.

The teenager was handed his senior debut by Jose Mourinho in Tottenham’s FA Cup clash against Marine, becoming the youngest ever player to pull on a Spurs shirt (16 years and 163 daysand he marked the occasion with a well-taken goal.

The youngster was called up to the England Under-19s squad last month, skipping three age groups in the process.

It remains to be seen whether Tottenham will allow Devine to continue his development at the club next season or would decide to let him gain some experience out on loan.

Either way, Alli seems to be convinced that the midfielder has the potential to develop into a top player.

The 24-year-old said on Instagram Live (as relayed by HITC): “Alfie Devine is a very good player. Don’t sleep on him.”
