Tottenham midfielder Alfie Devine has posted a picture of himself on Instagram with a cast on his right foot after reportedly picking up an injury while playing for the club’s Under-18s on Sunday.
Spurs snapped up Devine from Wigan Athletic for around £500,000 in the summer (Daily Mail) and the midfielder has made a very good impression in his first few months at the club.
He was involved with the first-team during the club’s pre-season friendlies and has been excellent for the Under-18s, who have made a fine start to the season.
However, Matt Taylor’s side suffered their first defeat of their league campaign at Villa Park on Saturday when they went down 2-0, with Devine reportedly being forced off with an injury (Alasdair Gold).
While there has been no confirmation from the club about the severity of Devine’s injury, the midfielder’s recent Instagram upload suggests that he could be out for a while.

Spurs Web Opinion
Devine’s injury comes as the latest blow following the injuries sustained by Japhet Tanganga and Troy Parrott. Perhaps it is a consequence of a lack of pre-season and the busy schedule but let’s hope the youngster makes a full recovery and that the cast is little more than a precaution.
