Alfie Devine is expected to leave Tottenham on loan this summer as part of continuing his development, according to Football.London’s Alasdair Gold.
The 17-year-old midfielder has made good strides since joining Spurs in 2020 and holds the title of the club’s youngest first-team player and goalscorer, with both coming in the FA Cup against Marine.
Devine, already an England U19 international, broke through into Antonio Conte’s matchday squad against Leeds earlier this year, although his attention will now be on securing a regular spot in senior football.
But with plenty of midfielders ahead of him in the pecking order, he may be required to build up his experience away from North London.
Football.London have claimed Tottenham will look to secure a loan move for Devine this summer to help the talented youngster continue his growth in a senior environment.
Spurs rejected a proposal from Leyton Orient to take Devine last year as they felt it would be better to split his time between the first-team and academy set-ups (Football.London).
Spurs Web Opinion
Devine is one of Tottenham’s most promising players so they will want to make sure they make the best decisions possible when it comes to aiding his development.
He seems to have outgrown academy football already at just 17 so a loan does look to be the next best option, so hopefully the club will be able to find a team with a good profile to take him.
