England Under-19s booked their place in Friday’s European Under-19 Championship final with a 2-1 win over Italy yesterday, with Alfie Devine picking up an assist.
Devine played all ninety minutes as a part of a front three, with Dane Scarlett leading the line for England.
It was Italy who took the lead in the 12th minute of the game as Fabio Miretti converted from the spot, which meant the Young Lions were behind for the first time in the tournament.
However, England fought back, with Bristol City youngster Alex Scott heading home Devine’s corner just before the hour mark.

Scott is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar this summer, with Football Insider reporting last month that the North London club are keeping a close eye on the 18-year-old.
Liverpool defender Jarell Quansah then headed home the winner in the 82nd minute to help England set up a final clash with Israel on Friday.

Spurs Web Opinion
The experience of playing high-pressure games at such young age will do wonders for Devine’s and Scarlett’s development. Hopefully, England get the job done in the final and the Spurs pair return to Hotspur Way next week as European Under-19 champions.
