In the training video released by Tottenham this week, Harvey White, Brandon Austin, Maksim Paskotsi, Alfie Devine and young goalkeeper Aaron Maguire were spotted with the first team.

Tottenham’s squad was down to its barebones towards the end of last season after the injuries to Oliver Skipp and Japhet Tanganga while the likes of Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso and Bryan Gil were loaned out in January.

That meant that Conte had to name several academy youngsters, including the likes of White and Devine on the bench for several matches.

That is not something the Italian has to repeat this season, given that Spurs have significantly strengthened their squad this summer. However, several of the academy prospects are continuing to train with Conte and his coaching staff.

While White was seen in amongst the other first-team players this week, Paskotsi and Devine were in a separate line with youngsters, which Football.London suggest could potentially highlight White’s place in Conte’s pecking order.

However, there was a concerning development on Friday as Devine picked up a hamstring problem in Tottenham Under-21s clash against Everton, which could prevent the midfielder from being loaned out this summer.

With Pape Matar Sarr likely to be loaned out this summer, I would not be surprised if Tottenham decided to keep White at the club, not only as an extra body in case of an injury crisis but also given the club’s issues in meeting the homegrown quota for the Champions League.
