Alasdair Gold has compiled his regular roundup of all the Spurs players currently out on loan, including Tanguy Ndombele’s first start for Galatasaray, a couple of wins for Joe Rodon at Leeds United, and a match-winning goal for Troy Parrott.

The crop of first-team players at Tottenham Hotspur are flying high right now, with an eight-game unbeaten run at the start of the campaign. Ange Postecoglou’s side are now top of the Premier League table going into the international break.

While players like Heung-min Son, James Maddison, and Cristian Romero are flourishing in North London, there are a number of players still attached to the club who are plying their trade elsewhere this season.

Whether it be young players looking for valuable first-team experience, or fringe players attempting to prove their worth and secure a permanent move away from Tottenham, all the players out on loan right now have something to work towards.

How are the Spurs loanees performing this week?

In his loan report for Football.London, Alasdair Gold shares what the various Spurs loanees have been up to over the last week.

There was a “big moment” for Tanguy Ndombele this week, with the Frenchman starting for the first time for Galatasaray. He played 62 minutes against Antalyaspor, and also got a six-minute substitute appearance against Manchester United in the Champions League in midweek.

It’s Davinson Sanchez who is stealing the headlines out in Turkey, however. The former Spurs man bagged his first goal for Galatasaray in the 2-0 win over Antalyaspor, and registered two assists in the 3-2 win over Manchester United.

Joe Rodon is back from suspension, and getting praise once again for his performances in the heart of the Leeds United defence. The Welshman featured in back-to-back wins for the Championship side, against QPR and Bristol City, with LeedsLive describing him as “very solid.”

His teammate, Djed Spence, is still out injured for Leeds. As are both Sergio Reguilon at Manchester United, and Japhet Tanganga at Augsburg. The latter, however, is expected to be back in action later this month.

Moving on to the younger talent out and about gaining experience, Troy Parrott is having a great time out in Holland with Excelsior Rotterdam. The 21-year-old scored in back-to-back games recently, including a late winner in the Rotterdam derby, but he is still waiting for his first start.

Dane Scarlett, meanwhile, is having to be very “patient” at Ipswich Town. With the club “absolutely flying” in the Championship, the Spurs man is finding it difficult to break into the team, but did get a ten-minute cameo appearance in the win over Hull City in midweek.

And finally, Alfie Devine has been “drawing plenty of praise” during his time with League One outfit Port Vale. In midweek, the youngster started the game against Bristol Rovers but was replaced at half-time after picking up a yellow card.

Devine then got another 57 minutes under his belt after coming on as a substitute in the first half against Portsmouth, replacing an injured teammate for the defeat at Fratton Park.

Spurs Web Opinion

Plenty of positives this week, with both Joe Rodon potentially pushing himself closer to a permanent switch to Leeds, and Ndombele finally getting his first start.

Parrott continues to impress in the Netherlands and is doing his reputation no harm. But, I do worry about Dane Scarlett at Ipswich. If he doesn’t get a chance soon, we may have to reconsider that agreement.

Alasdair Gold has provided his regular round-up of all the Tottenham Hotspur players who are out on loan right now. Headlines include Tanguy Ndombele’s fitness issues, Joe Rodon picking up a red card, and Troy Parrott getting on the scoresheet.

With a number of new faces arriving at the club this summer, Ange Postecoglou needed to give his squad some balance by shipping players out.

There was, and still is, a great number of peripheral figures at Tottenham whose futures lie elsewhere, but who could not seal a permanent move away this summer. Therefore, a loan move serves the interest of all parties.

Likewise, a handful of young players have temporarily left the club for the season in an effort to gain valuable experience and stake their claim on a first-team spot at Spurs.

What’s going on with the Spurs loanees?

In his report for Football.London, Alasdair Gold shares what all the Spurs loanees have been getting up to, and what has been said about them.

First up is Tanguy Ndombele, who continues to struggle. The Frenchman is yet to start a game for Galatasaray and has been hit with some pretty heavy criticism by Sky Sports’ Batuhan Karadeniz, who claimed the midfielder needed a nutritionist (via Super Haber).

Conversely, Sergio Reguilón is seemingly enjoying life at Manchester United right now. The Spaniard played a part in the Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich in midweek, and also got 79 minutes under his belt against Burnley at the weekend. The 26-year-old was even named Manchester United’s “best player” for the game in Germany (Manchester Evening News).

Joe Rodon has been “earning plenty of plaudits” during his loan spell at Leeds United, but was sent off in a 0-0 draw against Hull in midweek.

Japhet Tanganga is currently out injured, but is expected to return to action for Augsburg next month.

Perhaps the highlight of the loan players this week, is Troy Parrott. The young Irishman got himself off the mark for Excelsior Rotterdam with a goal in the 88th minute.

Gold describes how Parrott “received the ball on the edge of the box and curled a beautiful shot into the top right corner, leaving the goalkeeper helplessly watching on.”

Finally, two of Tottenham’s most promising young players continue their development on loan with substitute appearances for Dane Scarlett and Alfie Devine.

The former played 12 minutes at the weekend and 19 minutes in midweek, but it is thought “those minutes will continue to rack up” as his Ipswich manager is a “big admirer.”

Devine, meanwhile, played just over an hour for Port Vale in midweek, but was relegated to the bench for the weekend’s action. However, it is the “early steps” of his career, and he has received “plenty of praise” while on loan with the League One side so far.

Spurs Web Opinion

It’s great to hear Troy Parrott has got his first goal, and hopefully, it’s the first of many. Dane Scarlett is one I’m watching closely, as this will be a real test for him in the Championship.

As for Tanguy Ndombele, it just keeps getting worse and worse, and he is most definitely a lost cause now.

AS have claimed that those at Manchester United have not only been impressed with Sergio Reguilon’s performances but also his character.

Reguilon completed a loan switch to Man Utd just a couple of days before the summer transfer deadline, with the deal reportedly having a break clause in January (The Athletic).

The injuries to both Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia have meant that Erik Ten Hag has had to start the Tottenham man in the last three matches across all competitions, and the Spaniard has delivered some promising displays.

Sergio Reguilon is proving to be a hit at Man United

AS say that Reguilon has ‘responded creditably’ to what the Dutch coach has asked of him and states that the left-back is one of the ‘few positives’ for the Red Devils over recent weeks.

The report adds that apart from the ‘good level’ that the 26-year-old has shown on the pitch, he has also proven his ‘character’ to the coaches at the Manchester club.

The outlet claims that Reguilon has ‘quickly gained weight’ at Old Trafford and that it ‘shows’ that he has been at big clubs.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Reguilon is a limited footballer, he can be effective in the right system and it is visible that he is now playing for his career. Tottenham would likely be happy to sell him to Man Utd permanently in January if the Red Devils do show interest.

He may have reached the end of the line when it comes to his Tottenham career, but Sergio Reguilon has picked up some praise during his time on loan at Manchester United already.

It has been a strange couple of years for Sergio Reguilon. He arrived at Tottenham from Real Madrid and managed to establish himself as a first-team regular under Jose Mourinho.

However, Antonio Conte clearly did not feel the Spaniard fit into his system and sent him out on loan to Atletico Madrid. Things didn’t go to plan there, though, with injury restricting Reguilon to just 12 appearances and 317 minutes of action (Transfermarkt).

Now, with Ange Postecoglou in charge of Spurs, there was still no way back into the first team for Reguilon, and the player was made readily available for transfer over the summer.

It appeared no move would happen for the 26-year-old until an injury to Luke Shaw left Manchester United in desperate need of a new left-back. Reguilon has joined the Red Devils on loan until January, with the option to extend.

Reguilon was the best player on the pitch for United

Manchester United lost 4-3 to Bayern Munich in midweek, with Reguilon starting in the left-back position for Erik ten Hag’s side. It was not a great performance for United, but the Spurs man still got some praise for his role.

Speaking on talkSPORT after that game, Jamie O’Hara said: “I mean [Sergio] Reguilon was [Manchester United’s] best player tonight and he’s on loan from Spurs.”

Co-host Jason Cundy added: “He was excellent.”

Spurs Web Opinion

It is a bit of a back-handed compliment to say Reguilon was the best player in a very poor United team. I watched that game, and I think the best thing you can say about Reguilon is, he didn’t embarrass himself at all. He played relatively well, but he didn’t do anything special at all.

Tottenham Hotspur correspondent Alasdair Gold has shared an update on various players the club loaned out this season, including Joe Rodon, Japhet Tanganga, and Alfie Devine.

In a summer of great upheaval for Spurs, seven new faces arrived through the door at the North London club. With so many new signings, there had to be some outgoings to balance the books and keep the squad from becoming bloated.

Some fans have been disappointed with the club’s inability to sell fringe players this summer, with Harry Winks and Davinson Sanchez the only two peripheral squad players who left the club permanently during the transfer window.

However, plenty of players did leave the club on loan this summer. Youngsters like Alfie Devine, Dane Scarlett, and Troy Parrott all secured moves to ensure they play more first-team football this year, while more experienced heads such as Joe Rodon and Japhet Tanganga moved on, too.

What have the Spurs loanees been up to recently?

In his regular piece for Football.London, Alasdair Gold had plenty to say about all those players and more.

Gold claims Joe Rodon is “earning plenty of plaudits” at Leeds United so far this season and was given special “praise for his role in keeping a clean sheet” at the weekend. His teammate, Djed Spence, is now out of action for eight weeks with a knee injury.

Meanwhile, over in Turkey, Tanguy Ndombele came off the bench for Galatasaray and played 15 minutes in a 4-2 win over Samsunspor.

Despite not doing anything of particular note in that appearance, it is said that Ndombele will now be “looking to play a part” in his new side’s opening Champions League game this week.

In the Premier League, Sergio Reguilon made his debut for Manchester United and played 85 minutes of the defeat to Brighton. The Spaniard will be hoping for a better result next time out.

As for Tanganga, he is yet to recover from a knee injury and has not featured for Augsburg so far this season. That injury will not be helped by a reported accident at the training ground where the defender fell off a bicycle.

Japhet Tanganga

A player who has made it onto the pitch, however, is Troy Parrot, who “got more game time under his belt,” this weekend, albeit a 19-minute substitute appearance in a 0-0 draw for Excelsior Rotterdam.

Alfie Devine is faring much better at League One side Port Vale. Devine was handed a start by his new side after his “heroics” in the previous game where he provided an assist and scored a penalty.

This time out, the youngster played 75 minutes in a 1-0 win for the high-fliers, and made a “crucial last-ditch tackle” early in the game.

And finally, Dane Scarlett “again had to watch on as an unused substitute” for Ipswich Town as they defeated fellow promoted side, Sheffield Wednesday at the Hillsborough stadium.

Gold claims Scarlett is “going to have to be patient” but reiterates that “big things” are expected when he the young striker does get his chance.

Spurs Web Opinion

It’s great to see both Joe Rodon and Alfie Devine performing well on loan. While the former may never return to Spurs, Devine has a bright future at the club and this spell of regular football will help his development hugely. Hopefully, Dane Scarlett can get an opportunity soon and show what he can do, too.

The Spaniard was thus always like to leave Hotspur Way before the transfer deadline but hardly anyone would have expected until a couple of weeks ago that he would make a switch to Old Trafford.

The injury to Luka Shaw meant that Erik Ten Hag’s side have decided to move for the 26-year-old as an emergency option at left-back.

According to reports, while there is no fee involved, the Red Devils will cover Reguilon’s full salary over the course of his stay at the club, and the loan deal contains a break clause in January (The Athletic).

Reguilon could not turn down Manchester United

The former Real Madrid man has now admitted that the decision to make the switch up north was a straight-forward one after his conversation with Ten Hag.

After completing the switch, he told Man Utd’s official website: “In life, you have to be ready for everything and the chance to represent this great club with such an illustrious history is one that I could not turn down.

“Having spoken to the manager, I know what he needs from me, and I am ready to play my part in helping the team to achieve success. I know that I can contribute to Manchester United this season; I am ready to fight for this group and show everyone my qualities.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Reguilon would have feared the worst after his move to Real Sociedad collapsed last week but this is a great opportunity for him to get his career back on track.

If he delivers a couple of good displays and puts himself on the shop window, that would only be good news for Spurs ahead of the January window.

Tottenham Hotspur have officially confirmed that Japhet Tanganga and Sergio Reguilon have both departed the club on loan.

Transfer deadline day always looked likely to be quite busy for Spurs and that is exactly how it is panning out, with the club seemingly working on offloading many of their unwanted players and getting a couple through the door.

It was reported this morning by Fabrizio Romano that Tanganga is set to complete a deadline-day move to Augsburg on a season-long loan, with an option to buy.

Tottenham have now confirmed that their academy graduate has joined the Bundesliga club on a temporary deal, with the club revealing that a conditional obligation to buy has been included in the deal.

Meanwhile, it has also been widely reported that over the past 24 hours, Manchester United had agreed on a loan deal for Reguilon, with the deal containing a break clause in January (The Athletic).

Spurs have now also announced that the left-back, who spent last season on loan at Atletico Madrid, is indeed on his way to Old Trafford.

Spurs Web Opinion

With these two players now out of the door, Spurs are in a race against time to offload Dier, Sanchez and Hojbjerg before the 11 pm deadline. Tottenham’s moves for a centre-back (Lloyd Kelly) and a centre-midfielder (Conor Gallagher) depend on those exits materialising.

The Athletic have revealed that Manchester United will cover Sergio Reguilon’s full salary over the course of his stay at Old Trafford.

It now seems only a matter of time before United and Spurs confirm Reguilon’s loan move, with multiple sources reporting that a deal has been agreed.

This includes Fabrizio Romano, who gave his ‘here we go’ seal of approval to the transfer on Thursday night.

The journalist claimed that a break clause is expected to be included in the loan deal and that the Spaniard was due for a medical at Old Trafford before sealing the transfer.

No loan fee between Man Utd and Tottenham

The Athletic have now also confirmed that a break clause for January has been included in Reguilon’s move to Manchester.

The publication revealed that the Red Devils will not be paying any loan fee to the North London club for the left-back.

However, it is alleged that as per the agreement, United will cover Reguilon’s full £48k-per week salary.

Spurs Web Opinion

While there are no upsides for Tottenham in letting a player join a direct rival on loan without any fee in return, we all know that the Lilywhites are desperate to get players out of the door to make space for new signings. So, it is not entirely surprising that Spurs gave the green light for this deal.

It has been confirmed by talkSPORT that the former Real Madrid man has successfully completed his medical at Old Trafford after being given permission to travel up north.

Spurs Web Opinion

Reguilon’s and Tanganga’s moves to Augsburg and Man Utd respectively now look to be all but done. There also seems to be a potential deal in the pipeline for Hojbjerg. Spurs are now in a race against time to also finalise the exits of Lloris and Dier over the next few hours.

Sergio Reguilon joins Manchester United on loan

Although it appears the deal will be a full-season loan, Man United will have a break clause in January in case they no longer need the Spaniard. Reguilon will likely serve as cover until Luke Shaw and Malacia return from their respective injuries.

The former Real Madrid man appeared for Ange Postecoglou in pre-season, but has yet to play a single minute in the Premier League or Carabao Cup this year.

It was reported by Lyall Thomas last week that Man United were looking at Reguilon, but Manchester Evening News suggested his wages would be too high for the Premier League giants.

It appears Spurs and Man United have been able to come to an agreement on that issue though, as Reguilon has secured himself a temporary move to one of the biggest clubs in the world, despite not being able to get a look in at Tottenham.

Spurs Web Opinion:

The transfer window really does throw up some strange deals like this. Honestly, it’s a win for everyone. Reguilon gets a big move, Man United get left-back cover, and if he does well, Tottenham will surely find it easier to locate a buyer for the Spaniard.

David Ornstein has revealed on The Athletic’s live transfer blog that Manchester United are now seriously considering a move for Tottenham left-back Sergio Reguilon.

The speculation linking Reguilon with a move to United first appeared last week when Sky Sports’ Lyall Thomas suggested that the Red Devils had identified the Tottenham man as a potential target after the injury to Luke Shaw.

However, Manchester Evening News subsequently suggested that the Old Trafford hierarchy found the Spaniand’s wages to be excessive, and the rumour subsequently died down.

United now considering late move for Reguilon

Ornsiten has claimed that Reguilon is now back on United’s wishlist, with the club said to be considering the 26-year-old as a ‘live option’ for the left-back slot.

The journalist explains that Manchester club were set to submit a proposal to sign Marc Cucurella but after he played in Chelsea’s Carabao Cup win against AFC Wimbledon (which means that he is cup-tied), Eric Ten Hag’s men are ready to turn their attention to Reguilon.

Ornstein adds that while a deal for Cucurella remains in play for United, their final decision could depend on financial reasons as they are also trying to conclude a deal for Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

Spurs Web Opinion

United would likely only be exploring a loan deal for Reguilon until January, given that Shaw is expected to be out of action until the end of the year.

Tottenham would probably be happy to let the Spaniard go as they are in a race against time to trim their squad and make spaces for new signings.

Manchester Evening News have revealed that Manchester United might pass up on the chance to sign Sergio Reguilon due to the Tottenham star’s salary demands.

Reguilon has not made Tottenham’s matchday squad for any of the opening three matches of the Premier League season and he is one of many first-team players who are expected to depart Spurs before the transfer window slams shut later this week (Evening Standard).

Sky Sports reporter Lyall Thomas reported over the weekend that United are considering a shock move for the Tottenham man after Luke Shaw picked up a hamstring injury.

The journalist added that the Red Devils could explore a late deal for Reguilon, who was also alleged to be on Fulham’s wishlist.

Reguilon’s salary excessive for Manchester United

MEN have now also backed up United’s interest in Reguilon, naming the Spurs star and Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella as the two left-backs that the Manchester club are eyeing after the injury to Shaw.

The report adds that this is not the first time Man Utd have explored a move for the 26-year-old, with the club alleged to have considered signing the former Real Madrid man three years ago before they eventually opted to acquire Alex Telles.

However, the publication states that Reguilon’s salary demands could prove ‘too steep’ for the Old Trafford hierarchy.

Spurs Web Opinion

Even though Reguilon is evidently not part of Postecoglou’s plans and Tottenham are looking to offload him, the club would be hesitant to loan him out to a direct rival. There is no reason for Spurs to strengthen Man Utd’s squad even marginally.

As Manchester United scramble to sign a new left-back to cover for the injury of Luke Shaw, fresh details have emerged regarding the Red Devils’ reported interest in Tottenham Hotspur outcast, Sergio Reguilon.

Despite a bright start to his Spurs career under Jose Mourinho, Sergio Reguilon has now found himself sidelined by both Antonio Conte, and new manager Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham.

A less-than-successful loan spell with Atletico Madrid last season led to the Spaniard returning to North London this summer. It was thought Reguilon would be given ample opportunity to impress his new coach ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

However, Reguilon failed to make sufficient impact during pre-season, and has been earmarked as one of many players that Spurs are actively looking to offload before the transfer window closes (Michael Bridge on Sky Sports’ Football Daily).

Reguilon was looking likely to join Spanish side Real Sociedad, but that move fell through recently when the La Liga outfit opted to sign Kieran Tierney instead (Fabrizio Romano).

Spurs will loan Reguilon to Man Utd on one condition

More recently, in light of Luke Shaw’s injury, Manchester United have emerged as a surprising suitor for Reguilon. And now, the latest from The Athletic on the situation, explains exactly how that deal could work out.

As it stands, United see Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella as the top target to solve their woes. However, the West London club would like a £7m fee for the season, meaning there is some negotiation needed.

Should that move not come to fruition, Reguilon is seen as a viable back-up option. While Spurs would prefer to sell the player, they are reportedly “open to letting him leave on loan without a fee, so long as his wages are covered.”

The 26-year-old’s “lucrative salary” could prove to be an issue there, but it is believed “contact has been made over a potential short-term move” to Old Trafford.

Spurs Web Opinion

The idea of giving Manchester United any of our players just doesn’t sit right with me, even if it is a player we have deemed surplus to requirements.

That said, if they were to pay his full wages until January perhaps, then we could see Reguilon improve his reputation and catch the attention of other clubs who might want to buy him.

The Daily Mail have revealed that Nottingham Forest hold an interest in Sergio Reguilon amidst the club’s talks with Tottenham over a deal for Brennan Johnson.

It is now clear that Spurs are prioritising signing Johnson before Friday’s transfer deadline, with The Times even reporting on Monday that the Lilywhites are now edging closer to agreeing on a deal for the attacking midfielder.

The publication asserted that there is confidence in the City Ground that Tottenham will meet their £50m valuation for the 22-year-old.

The same report also suggested that Spurs could use some of their players as makeweights in the deal, with Davinson Sanchez said to be in consideration.

Sergio Reguilon is of interest to Nottingham Forest

The Mail have now claimed that Forest are also eyeing another Tottenham player in Reguilon, who is one of the players that Spurs are keen to offload before the transfer window slams shut.

The outlet also discusses Forests’ interest in Sanchez and reveals that the Premier League side are facing competition from Fulham and Monaco for the Colombian’s services.

Spurs Web Opinion

Levy would be trying to include Sanchez and Reguilon in the deal for Johnson in order to bring down the asking price and trim down the Tottenham squad.

However, part-exchange deals seldom come off as clubs can very rarely agree on the valuations of multiple players. So, the likelihood is that the Johnson deal with be a straight cash one of around £50m.

Sky Sports reporter Lyall Thomas has revealed that Manchester United are now considering a shock move to sign Tottenham left-back Sergio Reguilon.

Reguilon has not made Tottenham’s matchday squad for any of the opening three matches of the season and he is one of many first-team players who are expected to depart Spurs before the transfer window slams shut in less than a week (Evening Standard).

Until a few days ago, it seemed like the 26-year-old was set for a return to La Liga, with several sources, including Ben Jacobs (the Last Word on Spurs podcast), stating that he was nearing a loan move to Real Sociedad.

However, it emerged on Saturday that the move had collapsed after the Spanish side secured Arsenal’s Kieran Tierney on loan instead (Fabrizio Romano).

Move to Man Utd now on the cards for Reguilon

Thomas has now taken to social media to claim that Reguilon has emerged as a shock target for Man Utd.

Luke Shaw is expected to be out of action for around six weeks after picking up a hamstring injury (90 min), and it turns out that the Red Devils are considering making a move for the Tottenham man before the window closes.

Thomas added that Regulion is also on the radar of Fulham but revealed that Leicester City’s Timothy Castagne remains the Cottagers’ top priority at the moment.

Spurs Web Opinion

The injury to Shaw means that United need temporary cover at left-back, which is why they are seemingly exploring loan options.

However, I do not think Tottenham would want to aid a direct competitor, which is why the Lilywhites will be much more receptive to an approach from Fulham or from La Liga sides for Reguilon.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Tottenham’s potential loan deal with Real Sociedad regarding Sergio Reguilon has collapsed, and Arsenal have swooped to send Kieran Tierney there instead.

It has been widely reported over the last couple of weeks that Spurs are prioritising moving players on to make space for potential new signings, with Reguilon being one of several players who is expected to depart the club (Evening Standard).

A couple of days ago, Ben Jacobs said on the Last Word on Spurs podcast (starting at 49:40) that the Spaniard is expected to seal a move to Sociedad before the transfer deadline.

The journalist stated that the Spanish side viewed the Tottenham man as a ‘high priority’ and added that there was a ‘high likelihood’ the 26-year-old would head to the Reale Arena on a season-long loan deal.

Sociedad set to sign Tierney instead of Reguilon

However, Reguilon’s move to Sociedad is now dead in the water as Sky Sports Football Daily have reported that the La Liga side are on set to sign another left-back in the form of Tierney.

The outlet claimed that La Real have struck a deal with Arsenal to sign the Scott on a season-long loan deal. Fabrizio Romano then confirmed that Spurs’ Reguilon exit had collapsed.

Spurs Web Opinion

This takes Tottenham back to square one in their efforts to find a new club for the Spaniard. However, a couple of other La Liga sides would surely be willing to take a punt on the Spurs star on loan over the coming days.

Ben Jacobs has said on the Last Word on Spurs podcast (starting at 49:40) that Sergio Reguilon’s proposed switch to Real Sociedad is expected to be completed.

Although Reguilon did get minutes during pre-season, it has always seemed likely that he would be offloaded this summer despite the injury to Ryan Sessegnon, with both Destiny Udogie and Ben Davies ahead of the Spaniard in the pecking order.

Several sources, including Fabrizio Romano, have revealed over the last few weeks that Sociedad are eyeing a move for the 26-year-old.

Deal likely to go through for Sergio Reguilon

Jacobs has now revealed that Sociedad remain interested in Reguilon and have identified him as a ‘high priority’ before the transfer window closes.

The La Liga club are allegedly looking to sign the former Real Madrid man on loan with an option to buy. Jacobs asserts that while Tottenham were initially looking to agree on an obligation to buy, they are comfortable with giving Sociedad an option.

The journalist states that as thing stands, there is a ‘high likelihood’ that the deal will go through but he adds that Reguilon is also attracting interest from other Spanish sides and from France.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Reguilon is evidently not good enough for a club with top-four aspirations, he is certainly a decent player and can prove a valuable asset for Sociedad if he stays injury-free next season.

So there is a good chance that the La Liga side could exercise the option to buy the 26-year-old next summer as long he proves his fitness.

Journalist Michel Bridge has said on Sky Sports’ Football Daily that as many as eight first-team players could leave Tottenham Hotspur before the September 2 deadline.

Ange Postecoglou himself made it clear last week that Spurs cannot afford to keep adding new players before getting some out of the door first, given the bloated nature of their squad (Football London).

It has been widely reported over recent weeks that Tottenham are prioritising offloading some unwanted players, and that was a point that was re-iterated by Ben Jacobs during his appearance on the Last Word on Spurs podcast on Wednesday.

The journalist stated that while Spurs ideally want to offload the likes of Japhet Tanganga, Sergio Reguilon and Djed Spence permanently, they might be forced to consider loaning them out since there have only been enquiries about temporary deals for those players so far.

Eight players in the shop window for Tottenham

Apart from the aforementioned three, Bridge has now named Hugo Lloris, Davinson Sanchez and Tanguy Ndombele as among those who are currently in the shop window.

The journalist further added that the Lilywhites are also listening to offers for Eric Dier, who has one year left on his contract while Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is open to leaving if a suitable bid arrives.

Spurs Web Opinion

Much like last summer, Tottenham would likely be forced to accept loan moves for many of these players.

The problem for Spurs is that many of these players are attracting interest from Italy, Spain and France, and the reality is that most Serie A, La Liga and Ligue 1 sides are not in a position to pay any transfer fee.

So, unless any of the eight agree to head to Turkey, Russia or Saudi Arabia, it is going be hard for Tottenham to recoup any money for them.

In a twist of fate, the injury suffered by Jurrien Timber will mean Kieran Tierney remains with Arsenal this season, leaving Real Sociedad to turn to alternative options for their defensive needs, which could open the door for Tottenham’s Sergio Reguilon.

While Reguilon enjoyed a consistent run in the Tottenham Hotspur starting lineup when he first arrived in North London back in 2020, he has been pushed further and further to the fringes of the Spurs squad over the last 12 months.

Sergio Reguilon

(Photo by Sebastian Frej/MB Media/Getty Images)

A loan spell with Atletico Madrid last season was heavily impacted by injury, leaving Reguilon to play just 317 minutes of football across 12 appearances for the La Liga outfit (Transfermarkt).

Reguilon has been back in the Spurs squad this summer and featured in pre-season under new boss Ange Postecoglou, but it is widely believed the Spaniard is one of the players deemed surplus to requirements by the Australian (The Athletic).

Real Sociedad may turn to Reguilon this summer

It has already been reported that Real Sociedad are keen on Reguilon (Fabrizio Romano), but now it appears the Spurs defender has jumped up their list of targets.

According to a new report from Relevo, Sociedad were initially hoping to sign Kieran Tierney from Arsenal. However, the ACL injury suffered by new signing Jurrien Timber in the opening game of the season has left Mikel Arteta reluctant to let the Scotsman leave the club.

This development has forced Sociedad to look at “other options” and it seems Reguilon is right up there for the Spanish outfit.

The report claims an “agreement between the parties is practically complete” and that Sociedad are keen for a loan deal with a purchase option.

All that is left, is to negotiate this with Tottenham, but it is suggested that getting a “green light” from Daniel Levy may not be “easy.”

Spurs Web Opinion

There is no doubt that Sergio Reguilon is ready to leave Spurs, but the club more than likely wants to sell him outright rather than messing about with another loan move.

There don’t seem to be many clubs lining up to sign Reguilon, however, so if we can get a purchase obligation on the loan deal, the switch should happen.

The Sun have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have put seven of the players, who were not part of the matchday squad against Brentford, in the shop window.

The report reveals that Tanguy Ndombele, Hugo Lloris, Eric Dier, Sergio Reguilon, Djed Spence, Japhet Tanganga and Harvey White could all leave the North London club before the window slams shut on September 2.

It is alleged that Ndombele tops the list of players that Spurs wish to offload, with the Frenchman attracting interest from Turkish pair Galatasaray and Fenerbahce.

Tanguy Ndombele fails to impress another Spurs boss

It is explained that while Ange Postecoglou was prepared to give the 26-year-old a clean slate, the former Lyon man has not impressed the new boss with his time-keeping and attitude.

Tottenham want to sell Ndombele permanently and are also said to be willing to let Tanganga, White and Reguilon leave if they receive suitable offers.

The Sun add that Tottenham are also listening to bids for Spence despite the right-back signing for the club just a year ago while Lloris is now searching for a new team.

Finally, the outlet adds that ‘it remains to be seen’ what decision Spurs make on Dier’s future.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is a little surprising to see White’s name as part of this list as I assumed the club would have wanted him to go out on loan again this season.

The other names on this list are not surprising and I do believe that Spurs will try to push Dier out, given that he only has a year left on his contract and is seemingly not an important part of Postecoglou’s plans.
