Tottenham Hotspur have signed Alfie Devine up to a new contract that will run until 2027, following the teenager’s impressive start to his Spurs career.
Spurs initially signed Devine from Wigan in the summer of 2020 and it didn’t take him long to make his senior debut in January 2021 against Marine in the FA Cup – even becoming the club’s youngest ever goalscorer in the same match.
Alfie also had a productive summer this year, winning the U19 European Championships with England alongside fellow Spurs youngster, Dane Scarlett.
After Devine scored 11 and assisted three across 22 youth games last season (TransferMarkt), Tottenham decided to keep him around this summer rather than loaning him out like Scarlett.
And it appears the 18-year-old has now secured his long-term Tottenham future, signing a new five-year contract with the North London club.
Spurs Web Opinion:
Tottenham have a number of highly-rated prospects in the academy at the moment, but there seems to be a real buzz around Dane Scarlett and Alfie Devine in particular. He has the platform to make the step up now, so let’s see if he can take the chance.
