Rumoured Tottenham target Alex Scott has reacted on social media to Alfie Devine’s post expressing his delight at signing a new contract with Tottenham.

Tottenham confirmed on Tuesday that Devine had put pen to paper on a new contract that runs until 2027.

The teenager has impressed since joining the club’s academy from Wigan in 2020 and has been one of the stars for Spurs’ development sides over the last two years.

One of the people to congratulate Devine on the new deal was his England Under-19 teammate Alex Scott, who has won many admirers since breaking into Bristol City’s senior side at the end of the 2020/21 campaign.

The versatile attacking midfielder, who has also been employed wide on the right, managed six goal contributions in 38 Championship appearances across the last campaign (Transfermarkt) and has already provided two assists so far this season.

Football Insider claimed back in May that Spurs were ‘compiling a dossier’ on the 19-year-old before deciding whether to push ahead with a formal offer for him.

Tottenham’s interest in the Bristol starlet has also been backed up by Alasdair Gold, who revealed via Football.London last month that the Spurs hierarchy had discussed a move for the youngster.

When Devine took to Instagram to express his delight at signing a new contract, Scott responded: “Love it bro” along with three clap emojis.

If Spurs manage to nurture the likes of Devine, Scarlett, Spence, Sarr and Gil and help them develop into important first-team players, that will certainly boost the club’s image in the eyes of young talent like Alex Scott, who will see Tottenham as an ideal environment for their growth.
