According to Michael Bridge, Eric Dier has been discussed in a possible exchange deal with Bournemouth for their defender Lloyd Kelly, but the Tottenham Hotspur man would rather see out his contract and move abroad next summer.
The future of Eric Dier has been up in the air all summer. Though he is one of the most experienced players in the Spurs squad right now, the 29-year-old is still yet to feature under Ange Postecoglou this season.
Apparently, Dier is one of eight first-team players that Tottenham could look to offload before the transfer window shuts tonight (Michael Bridge for Football Daily).
Just last week, the England international was linked with Bundesliga clubs Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, with a ‘German tug-of-war’ thought to be unfolding regarding the Spurs man (Kaveh Solhekol for Football Daily).
It was recently suggested that Dier was keen to secure a move away from Spurs before the end of the transfer window (The Athletic) and the Lilywhites have seemingly been doing what they can to make that happen.
Dier wants to wait until next summer to leave Spurs
However, the likelihood of Dier leaving the club in the coming hours appear to be slimming, especially when it comes to joining another Premier League side.
Discussing Tottenham’s interest in Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly, Michael Bridge claims Dier was offered to the Cherries as part of any potential deal, but it is thought Dier is not keen on the idea.
Apparently, Dier “has a desire” to leave England altogether, and will wait until his contract expires next summer to achieve that goal.
Tottenham have approached Bournemouth with a view to a deal for Lloyd Kelly. Bournemouth consider him a key player & don’t want to sell. Eric Dier discussed in the deal but the player has a desire to move abroad when his contract ends next summer. With – @markmcadamtv

Spurs Web Opinion
Unless Bayern or Dortmund come in for Dier in the next few hours, it looks like we will be keeping hold of him for the season.
That’s not the end of the world, to be fair. If it’s a toss-up between him and Davinson Sanchez, I would rather sell the latter now and keep Dier around for his experience as the squad goes through the transition this season.
