Football Insider have claimed that Eric Dier has done a U-turn on his future and is now ready to consider joining AS Roma in January.
Dier has not had a single minute of football this season and while the centre-back did make the bench against Sheffield United and Arsenal, he dropped out of the matchday squad again against Liverpool, with Ange Postecglou preferring Ashley Phillips instead.
Last week, CalcioMercato claimed that Roma are keeping tabs on the Tottenham man ahead of the January window.
The publication claimed that Jose Mourinho is keen to bolster his options at centre-back due to Chris Smalling’s injury problems and would consider reuniting with Dier.
Dier is now open to leaving Tottenham in January
Football Insider have now claimed that the 29-year-old is now open to moving to the Stadio Olimpico in January.
It is explained that Dier had turned down a couple of offers to leave Spurs in the summer as he wanted to run his contract down and leave as a free agent next summer.
However, the experienced centre-back is now thought to have changed his stance and would consider a switch to Italy in January if Roma’s interest materialises.

While Dier’s preference might be to leave as a free agent so that he has more offers to choose from, the centre-back would not want to waste one full season on the bench.
Now that he knows that Ange does not trust him, I expect him to listen to the offers that come his way in January.
