The Daily Mail have reported that Tottenham are busy looking at potential replacements for Harry Kane in case the England captain is sold this summer.
However, it appears that the Lilywhites are looking for a different profile of forward, with all three mentioned in the report being young, up-and-coming options.
The Mail mention that 18-year-old Bayern Munich striker, Mathys Tel, has been mentioned around Tottenham, but is not particularly keen on the idea of coming to North London.
Genk forward, Gift Orban, is also reportedly ‘under consideration’, alongside Brennan Johnson from Nottingham Forest – who is a homegrown option.
Brennan Johnson would be too expensive for Spurs
The major sticking point for Johnson is that Steve Cooper wants to keep him, and Forest would only look at offers of around £50m, a valuation Spurs would reportedly be reluctant to meet.
The Lilywhites allegedly want a faster profile of striker to fill the Harry Kane void under Ange Postecoglou, who plays a very attacking brand of football.
Spurs Web Opinion:
I can see why Spurs would want a different profile, and I think that is the way to go, rather than trying to find a like-for-like Harry Kane replacement.
However, I would be disappointed if Spurs didn’t at least spend the money on a bigger name like Muani, to be honest.
