Journalist Pete O’Rourke has revealed that Leeds United have sent scouts to watch Nottingham Forest starlet Brennan Johnson, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham.
Johnson is enjoying a breakthrough season at the City ground, having amassed 14 goals and seven assists in the Championship so far this season (Transfermakrt).
The versatile attacking midfielder, who can also play on either flank, is thought to be attracting interest from several top-flight clubs ahead of the summer transfer window including Tottenham (The Sun).
The 20-year-old is expected to leave Forest in the summer if Steve Cooper’s side fail to win promotion to the Premier League, with the youngster valued at around £14m (The Sun).
Johnson will have just 12 months left on his contract with the Championship club at the end of the season (Transfermarkt).
O’Rourke has now revealed that Leeds also have their eye on Johnson, with Marsch’s men eyeing the attacking midfielder as a potential replacement for Raphinha.
The journalist told GiveMeSport: “I know Leeds scouts have been watching Johnson for a while, so I’m sure they might be thinking he could be a good addition to the team, especially if they lost someone like Raphinha.”
Spurs Web Opinion
If Spurs allow Johnson to go to another Premier League club, I believe we will regret the decision, much like our hesitation in snapping up the likes of Jarrod Bowen and Eberechi Eze. The Forest youngster seems to have all the attributes to be a future star and we certainly need to add an attacking midfielder to our squad.
