The Telegraph have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are watching three EFL starlets ahead of the summer transfer window, including Peterborough centre-back Ronnie Edwards.
Edwards has established himself as a mainstay in the Peterborough backline this season and has won many admirers with his solid displays.
Football Insider previously claimed that Spurs had sent scouts to assess the young defender this season and had been impressed by what they had seen. It was alleged that the North London club were prepared to step up their interest in the 19-year-old.
The Telegraph have now revealed that Spurs and Crystal Palace are set to battle it out Edwards’ signature, with the Lilywhites said to be keen on securing the centre-back’s services and then loaning him out.
The report also goes on to add that Tottenham have their eye on Coventry City attacking midfielder Callum O’Hare and Nottingham Forest winger Brennan Johnson.
O’Hare has five goals and seven assists in the Championship so far this season (Transfermarkt) while Johnson has scored 15 times and provided eight assists until now (Transfermarkt).

Given that Spurs are close to the limit of maximum allotted foreign players for European competitions, the club do need to invest in domestic talent this summer.
Apart from the aforementioned prospects, Middlesbrough’s Djed Spence might also be of interest to the North Londoners, given their need for a right wing-back.
