The Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor has claimed that Tottenham’s managing director of football Fabio Paratici watched Djed Spence in person this season.

Tottenham are expected to be in the market for a right wing-back this summer and multiple sources have reported over recent days that Spence is the club’s top target.

Alasdair Gold revealed on his YouTube channel this week that Spurs are expected to make a move for the 21-year-old, who is on loan at Nottingham Forest from Middlesbrough, irrespective of whether Forest win the Playoff Final on Sunday.

The Telegraph’s Matt Law reported on Tuesday that Spence is one of six players Tottenham are expected to go after this summer ahead of Antonio Conte’s first full season in charge.

It emerged previously that the North London club had two offers rejected for the England Under-21 international by Boro during the January transfer window (90 min).

Taylor has now revealed that Paratici was in attendance at the City Ground to run the rule over Spence and Brennan Johnson during Forest’s FA Cup victory over Leicester.

The journalist told GiveMeSport: “Wing-back is going to be an area they look to develop. There’s Wilfried Singo from Torino.

“Also, Djed Spence, I know that Paratici’s watched him in person at the City Ground this season in the FA Cup against Leicester, he went to watch him and Brennan Johnson.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I believe that Spence will be Tottenham’s top target over Singo due to the former being homegrown.

I think the Spurs hierarchy will be desperate for Forest to lose the Playoff final to Huddersfield so that it would make their pursuit of the 21-year-old a lot simpler.

If Forest do get promoted, I would not be surprised if Spence pushes to complete a permanent move to Steve Cooper’s side.
