Brennan Johnson has admitted that he is waiting with bated breath for the North London derby, which is now just weeks away.
Johnson arrived at Tottenham in a £47.5m deadline day move for Nottingham Forest, with reports indicating that Ange Postcoglou had identified the youngster as his top attacking target (Telegraph).
In his first interview with Spurs’ official channel, the 22-year-old admitted that it is a dream to true to join a club of the stature of the Lilywhites and revealed that he is excited to link up with the team after watching the side play a couple of matches under Postecoglou this season.
Johnson will have to wait a little longer to make his Tottenham debut, with the versatile attacker joining up with the Wales squad for the international break.
Spurs have some big tests coming up when the Premier League resumes, including a home clash against Liverpool and a trip to the Emirates.
Brennan Johnson has his eye on North London Derby
Johnson admitted that he cannot wait to take on Arsenal for the first time as a Tottenham player.
When asked which fixture he is looking forward to, the new Spurs signing told SPURSPLAY: “The derby. It’s coming up as well, so that’s one that will be surreal for me. It’s not a long time after [the international break]. It’ll feel crazy but I’m ready for it.”
Spurs Web Opinion
While Johnson would have played in some fierce derby matches for Forest against the likes of Notts County and Derby County, the 22-year-old would not have experienced anything like the North London Derby, in terms of the intensity, the atmosphere and the pure hatred between the two clubs.
