Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have spoken to Richarlison’s agent, however, added that signing a striker is not a priority for the north London club at the moment.
The speculation linking Richarlison with a move to Spurs first emerged a couple of weeks ago (90min).
It was suggested a few days later by Brazilian publication UOL that the striker had already made up his mind to leave Goodison Park, and is open to a switch to the Lilywhites.
David Ornstein told The Athletic UK’s YouTube channel last week that his sources around Everton believe that Richarlison will be a Spurs player by the end of the transfer window.
Romano has now said on the latest episode of the Here We Go podcast (starting at 11:34) that Spurs have their eyes on the Toffees forward this summer.
He explained that Antonio Conte’s men had reached out to Richarlison’s representatives to discuss a potential move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
However, Romano added that for the moment, Spurs are prioritising signing a centre-back and a right-back, and they will wait for ‘the right moment’ to move for a striker.
Spurs Web Opinion
Of all the forwards we have been linked with this summer, I think Richarlison will likely be the most realistic target for Spurs. The only worry is Chelsea potentially entering the race for the Everton star as Thomas Tuchel’s men would be keen to add to their forward line, with Lukaku seeming on his way out of Stamford Bridge.
